Translational R&D

Innovating to improve orthopedic surgery and sports medicine

Current orthopaedic medicine almost allows us to take our long-term physical mobility for granted. Still, there remain persistent orthopaedic clinical challenges with no adequate solution. The Translational Orthopaedic Research Group develops fresh clinical concepts in collaboration with the University of Zurich Department of Orthopaedics at the University Hospital Balgrist.

We have developed, patented and out-licensed several inventions for improved reconstruction of the human anterior cruciate ligament and rotator cuff tendons. These devices are co-developed with Balgrist surgeons who lend necessary expertise on surgical approach and technique.
